Kenya boasts one of the most vibrant economies for promising IT entrepreneurs. Through an innovative partnership between Enablis, NetHope and the Kenya ICT Board, 50 young Kenyan men and women are being trained to develop their entrepreneurial passions in areas such as software development, mobile solutions, training consultancies and more. Job creation (at least 3:1) is the end result. For more information http://www.enablis.org/Default.aspx?TabID=67&ArtID=173
Creative IT minded Kenyan youth are keen to start up businesses in the IT sector. Most lack the entrepreneurial training and the start up capital to get their businesses going.
Through an innovative partnership between Enablis and NetHope, 50 entrepreneurs have been identified to participate in a two year long entrepreneurial support program managed by Enablis. Startup IT enterprises will be created in the fields of software development, mobile applications, training consultancies and more. Financial support can be given to the general fund where entrepreneurs can apply for funding or donors can designate their support for one or more projects.
The goal of the program is that each successful enterprise will employ at least three employees. High tech companies are already flourishing in Kenya. Where will the next Microsoft, Google, Cisco be found?
Enablis has a 10 year history of helping develop entrepreneurs in sub-Saharan Africa. IT is such a growing field. We are excited to partnering with NetHope in this important endeavor.
