Help Save the Children give job opportunities to 2,300 vulnerable out of school and unemployed Palestinian youth between 15 and 25 years of age in The Jordan Valley Youth for Change project.
The situation in the Jordan Valley has especially grave consequences for the youth of the area. The unemployment rate is especially high for youth, leading to economic disempowerment. There is a lack of systematic research of the available employment opportunities in the Jordan Valley. Combined with a lack of career guidance and support this means that youth lack knowledge of what education or training is likely to lead to job opportunities.
The project will provide Palestinian youth in the Jordan Valley with - Knowledge of how to find employment opportunities - Skills demanded by employers, - Entrepreneurship courses, - Vocational training - Life skills - Project management courses - Training and materials for use of IT. As a result, the Palestinian youth in the Jordan Valley have the knowledge, skills and attitude to confidently seek new employment opportunities.
The Jordan Valley Youth for Change project will positively affect the lives of the 2,300 involved young people directly by enabling them to find employment or to create their own employment. The young people will thereby contribute to the livelihoods of their relatives and future families.
Poverty, marginalization and unemployment threatens the livelihood of Palestinian youth in the Jordan Valley, this project will create the change we want to see.
